Batho (PTY) LTD has structured itself in a manner that
will deliver quality services in a lean, effective and
efficient manner. We have constructed the organogram
in such a way as to show both the span of control of
each level of management and most individual staff reporting
to each level.
Batho is under the control of the Board of
Directors who, have reporting to them, a General Manager.
The General Manager will be responsible for the day
to day operations of the business and will recommend
decisions for the Board of Directors to take on policy
matters. Those recommendations will be based on an integrated
approach, resulting in collaborative discussions, debates,
and negotiations by the marketing, operations, business
development and economic development / community investment
departments.
The Role of Marketing
The Marketing Department is responsible for producing
all marketing materials based upon the vision and values
of the company. Such materials development includes
local and international print and media advertisements,
exhibition displays, videos, interactive CD’s,
brochures, and our website. The Marketing Department
is also responsible for the production of marketing
materials for our network of enterprises.
The Role of Operations Management
The Operations Management Department is primarily responsible
for co-ordinating the travel and tourism activities
of our network. This department interacts with Zenzele
Tourism Group as well as our strategic partners and
alliances overseas to ensure smooth travel and tour
operations that are inter-connected, resulting in our
tourists experiencing one positive and professional
service. This department is also responsible for the
following core functions:
• Personnel;
• Information technology;
• Accounting;
• Procurement of goods and services;
• Training and development;
• Contract services;
• Reporting & audits compliance
The Role of Business Development
The Business Development Department is primarily responsible
for expanding our black owned and controlled network
into KwaZulu Natal Province and other parts of South
Africa, Swaziland, Botswana, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Namibia,
Angola (e.g., Southern Africa). In addition, the department
is responsible for expanding our strategic partners
and alliances in more cities across the United States,
Canada, Europe, Asia, Australia and beyond Southern
Africa. This department is also responsible for promoting
the company and its network to government, Corporate
South Africa and potential investors in the company.
Shares have been set aside for previously disadvantaged
individuals and enterprises.
Role of Economic Development / Community Investment
The Economic Development / Community Investment Department
is responsible for identifying needed or existing economic
development projects in South Africa and partnering
them with potential investors. This department is equipped
to assist the investor with the following services:
• Identifying legal, tax, financial, investment,
insurance experts;
• Identifying consultants to conduct market research
and viability studies;
• Providing industry specific market information;
• Providing information on social, economic and
government policy and circumstances;
• Providing business brokering and assisting to
identify black empowerment partners;
• Identifying customs and trade assistance experts;
• Providing translation, interpreting and other
communication services;
• Identifying management consulting and information
management providers;
• Assisting with relocation matters for investors
moving to South Africa; and
• Identifying immigration consultants to assist
with work permits and other requirements from The Department
of Home Affairs
This department is also equipped to facilitate community
investment opportunities to the investor who wants to
be part of the many planned revitalization projects
in South Africa. This department will work with our
network to identify specific opportunities and partners
in our communities.
